What makes Hardanger cider special?

Can I visit cider farms?
Yes. Many cider farms welcome visitors and offer guided tours, cider tastings, farm shops, restaurants, and (some) accommodation. Available experiences vary from farm to farm and throughout the year.
Do I need to book in advance?
We appreaciate that you book in advance. Some farms also offer drop-in visits during peak season.
Can I buy cider directly from the farms?
Yes. Norwegian regulations allow licensed cider producers to sell their own cider directly from the farm. Availability and opening hours vary by producer.

What is the legal drinking age in Norway?
The legal drinking age is:
- 18 years for beverages up to 22% alcohol
- 20 years for beverages above 22% alcohol

Are the cider tastings conducted in English?
Yes. Most cider producers regularly welcome international guests and can provide tours and tastings in English.
Is Hardanger cider sweet?
Not necessarily. Hardanger cider comes in many styles, including:
